Dance Programs

We are so excited to announce that Miss Caitlyn will be the instructor at the Club for our dance programs.

Miss Caitlyn, former owner/director of Maryann's Dance Studio has been dancing since the age of 5. She has her BA in dance from Hofstra University and is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater, modern, lyrical, contemporary and hip hop. 

There are many advantages to choosing dance for your child. Dance increases control, speed, agility and balance as well as improves posture and body alignment. Dance also teaches teamwork and provides a fun form of exercise for children!

Classes start September 2024 and will run until June 2025.

Fee: $450.00 for each program
30 classes per program at $15.00 a class

Payment in full is required. There are no refunds for missed classes.

All program participants must have an active Annual General Membership to the Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club. ($85.00) Limited space.

Dance Program Descriptions

Ballet

Grades K-1 Saturday 9:30 a.m. - 10:10 a.m: A beginner ballet class for ages 5-6. This class will incorporate the basic fundamentals of dance with a fun and entertaining environment. Students will learn the foundations of dance that will be used for the rest of their dance career.


*Students should come prepared with leotard and tights. (any color) Pink ballet shoes. Dancers may wear dance skirts.

Lyrical

Grades 2-4 Saturday 11:00 a.m. - 11:40 a.m.: A lyrical style class for grades 2 through 4. We will work on building our technique, musicality, skills and emotional execution through dance.

Grades 5-8 Saturday 11:45 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.: A lyrical style class for grades 5-7. We will work on building our technique, musicality, skills and emotional execution through dance.

*Students should come prepared with Nude/Pink Ballet Pirouette Shoes. Dancers may wear soffe shorts.

Hip Hop

Grades 1-3 Saturday 10:15 a.m. - 10:55 a.m.: A hip hop class for grades 1 through 3. Students will work on musicality and technique in hip hop. It will be a fun, upbeat class.

*Students should come prepared with a new pair of white sneakers, any style, worn only in the studio, exclusively for dance.

Tap

High School Saturday 1:15 p.m. - 1:55 p.m.: A high level tap class where students with focus on technique, skills, rhythm and musicality. Dancers will build upon their tap foundations to hone their skills and enhance performance techniques.

*Students should come prepared with leotard and tights. (black leotard preferred) Caramel lace up flat tap shoes. Dancers may wear soffe shorts, spandex shorts, or dance skirts.

Jazz

High School Saturday 12:30 p.m. - 1:10 p.m.: A jazz class that uses elements of ballet mixed which energetic personal expression to create a technically-based form of dance.

*Students should come prepared with tan jazz slip on booties.

All boys in the program should come prepared with sweatpants/shorts and a t-shirt. Please, NO JEANS.
