The After School Program for Grades K – 5 provides instruction and activities that prepare youth to reach their full potential. Members are grouped together in small cohorts based on their grade and led by a trained Youth Development Professional. Members are encouraged to participate in all five core areas of programming: Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health and Life Skills, The Arts, and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.
Each afternoon, the Club offers homework help, providing members with space, time and assistance to complete their assignments.
A big part of helping our members to reach their full potential is teaching them the keys to a healthy life. Hands on lessons are taught about the importance of good nutrition, physical fitness, personal hygiene and sleep.
Science is all around us! At the Club, kids enjoy learning about natural wonders and scientific mysteries, expanding their understanding and sparking their intellectual curiosity. Members take field trips and participate in fun experiments that encourage them to see the world in a different way.
Kids In The Kitchen
Every week this Club will provide opportunities for children to learn how to bake healthy and sweet snacks. Our members will learn about healthy nutrition and math in a fun manner while improving social support for them.
Members develop their own personal style through a variety of activities using various media to create craft projects, drawings, paintings, sculpture, and other artistic expressions.
Learn to swim from certified instructors to be ready for the summer! Club members are transported to the Glen Cove YMCA on a weekly basis for a 45-minute swim session. 12 sessions; Additional Program Fee and Registration required.
