Youth of the Month – April 2021 

Darlin

Darlin C. is our April 2021 Teen Youth of the Month. Darlin is 17 years old and will be graduating from Locust Valley High School in June. Darlin has been a Club member for 8 years and enjoys many of the programs offered especially Keystone Club. Through Keystone, she has learned the value of serving one’s community, and most recently helped serve at our Pancake Breakfast and facilitated a recycling lesson as part of the National Keystone Project. Darlin also recently completed in this year’s Youth of the Year competition for her outstanding participation as a dedicated Club member. At school, Darlin very much enjoys participating in the Garden and Culinary Clubs. She has aspirations to be a dental hygienist and will be starting at SUNY Farmingdale this fall. According to our Teen Director, Stephanie when asked why Valentina was nominated for Youth of the Month, she shares “Darlin is a driven young person who is always positive and has a bright future ahead of her.”   In Darlin’s own words,  

“I am proud to be a member of Keystone. It has taught me to be more devoted and to put the needs of others before mine.” 

  

Jayson

Jayson H. is our April 2021 Bayville Youth of the Month. Jayson is 10 years old and in the 4th grade at Bayville Intermediate School. Jayson has been a Club member for 2 years and enjoys Kids in the Kitchen and Triple Play.  He also enjoys playing games on the computer and is quite good at it! According to his group leader Ms. Stephanie, “Jayson has come a very long way at the Club and we have seen a lot of accomplishments over these past 2 months.”  Jayson wants to become a scientist when he grows up. According to Jayson, he likes the Club because “there’s always fun activities happening here!”  

Anthony T. is our April 2021 Locust Valley Youth of the Month. Anthony is 10 years old and in the 5th grade at Locust Valley Intermediate School. Anthony has been a Club member for 2 years and especially enjoys when his group gets to go play outside. He excels in P.E. at school, and in his free time, he enjoys playing baseball and wants to be a professional baseball player when he grows up. According to his group leader Mr. Seth, “Anthony seeks to help the other kids to do their homework.”  Even at a young age, Anthony sees the value of the Club for his family, because it allows his parents to work full-time. Anthony is very friendly, always smiling, and we are lucky to have him as a Club member.
